Nestled in the heart of Big Sky, Montana, this stunning custom home is a true labor of love—designed by its owner, Keith Carlson, a master builder and designer with over fifty years of experience crafting exceptional homes across five states. During his courageous battle with Stage 4 cancer, Keith and his life partner, Johanne, discovered the serene beauty of Big Sky. Moved by a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude, they chose to build their dream mountain sanctuary as a celebration of life and second chances.
It was an honor to be entrusted with bringing their vision to life and to collaborate so closely with such a genuine and compassionate couple. The finished home is as inspiring as their story—breathtaking in its design and spirit. We’re especially thankful to Keith and Johanne for welcoming photographer Kevin Chartier into their sanctuary. His images beautifully capture the essence of this one-of-a-kind home and the heartfelt journey behind it.
